00:00:00: Speed learning.

00:00:01: The success techniques for you and your life!

00:00:14: Hello, welcome to speedlearning the podcast where you learn how to learn faster remember more and recall what you've learned with confidence.

00:00:23: this podcast is also available in German French Spanish and Italian because we want to prove that our concept works well.

00:00:33: I'm probably the best known polyglot language trainer in Europe.

00:00:38: We have podcasts to learn several languages, so the principle is proof that works what you preach.

00:00:48: Now today we are talking about one of the most underestimated factors in learning – your energy!

00:00:55: Most people try to force themselves times because we learned in school that you have to start at half past seven and be fully concentrated until twelve o'clock, then a short break.

00:01:12: Then again eight hours of school... We had to be present early morning late evening through the whole night but this is not true!

00:01:24: So it's far more effective work with your energy and not against it.

00:01:30: If you're tired, be tired!

00:01:32: if you are awake – Be active.

00:01:35: So why energy matters more than time?

00:01:38: Let's have a look.

00:01:38: Many people think I need more time to study but that is not true In reality.

00:01:43: what do you need is better energy in less times.

00:01:46: Thirty minutes of focus clear thinking often beats two hours when your tired or ninety minutes distracted sixty-minutes half focused.

00:01:56: because sixty minutes or thirty minutes, focused does not mean two hours having your mobile phone showing you some TikTok video bullshit whatever.

00:02:14: No it means that you are focused clear and in your energy.

00:02:21: so its'nt how long to study It's the state you're in alright?

00:02:29: And there are three energy zones.

00:02:31: Your day naturally has different energy levels, zone one is high focus.

00:02:37: you have a clear mind your fast processing and we've got strong concentration.

00:02:42: that's best for learning new material complex topics in difficult tasks.

00:02:47: then you could zone two medium-energy stable focus on less depth best for reviewing things practicing things and structuring notes.

00:02:59: And then there's zone three, low energy.

00:03:01: You're tired and your concentration is low.

00:03:05: This is best for light tasks vocabulary quick review and passive listening.

00:03:10: maybe taking the dog for a walk or doing some shopping Or I don't know what?

00:03:16: The common mistake Is that you are trying to do deep learning in low-energy phrases.

00:03:23: Well it's not exactly necessary To learn between five six

00:03:29: p.m.,

00:03:30: if you are extremely tired, If you have high energy level at eleven pm use that time.

00:03:39: So your personal energy rhythm.

00:03:42: There's not a perfect system for everyone but there is general pattern.

00:03:47: Most people have peak in the morning A dip in early afternoon and second smaller peak later on.

00:03:55: So your job is not to fight this.

00:03:58: Your job is to recognize the rhythm, by the way also record you nutrition and check which nutrition will give you energy.

00:04:11: so how do you find that out?

00:04:14: You report...you record.. you write down one hour after every meal.

00:04:22: Do I feel fitter with better concentration or do I feel fat?

00:04:30: Do i feel tired, downed and defocused.

00:04:36: So then focus on food nutrition meals that give you energy!

00:04:43: And forget about the rest to the rest in the evening during your vacation holidays... So your job is to recognize the rhythm.

00:04:54: Ask yourself, when am I mentally sharp?

00:04:58: When does learning feel easy and when do i feel drained?

00:05:05: so there's more distribution.

00:05:07: what To learn when now we match learning with energy?

00:05:14: high-energy time you learn new material complex topics deep work one two two Pomodoro sessions if You Feel that you have medium energy.

00:05:25: Review, answer questions create notes and if your low energy do vocabulary or listening or quick three minute reviews this changes everything.

00:05:35: You don't just study.

00:05:37: whenever you study strategically And prepare these things.

00:05:43: Prepare the new material That will look at in high-energy time Make it present make available for you Also the review and vocabulary, or listening in medium or low energy.

00:05:58: Okay?

00:06:00: So... And breaks will make you faster!

00:06:07: Well that's interesting isn't

00:06:08: it?!

00:06:08: Many people think I need to push longer.

00:06:10: That is totally wrong.

00:06:12: Your brain works on circles.

00:06:15: Normally twenty-five to a maximum of fifty minutes focus is perfect.

00:06:20: Then short break.

00:06:21: Why?

00:06:22: Because Your brain doesn't memorize during this focus time.

00:06:31: it memorizes During the break.

00:06:34: It's like going to the gym.

00:06:36: your muscle is not getting stronger and growing while you are doing your exercise.

00:06:42: You just Put in put an impact on your muscles, you got get an impulse And that's the same for the learning.

00:06:50: you've got the impulse but then neurons the nervous cells have to connect and that's what they do during the break, okay?

00:06:58: So apart from that.

00:07:01: The focus will stay high if you do a short break.

00:07:05: You'll have less mental fatigue and it's better retention.

00:07:10: so the rule is two focused.

00:07:11: twenty-five minute sessions beat ninety distracted minutes.

00:07:16: well thats obvious isn't it?

00:07:19: And then there is hidden learning multiplier.

00:07:23: Learning doesn't end when you stop studying.

00:07:26: It continues during sleep because during sleep information is stored, connections are built and knowledge has processed.

00:07:33: that means if your sleep poorly You learn slower?

00:07:37: You forget faster and your focus drops.

00:07:40: Simple but powerful trick.

00:07:42: do a three-minute review before sleep.

00:07:45: this improves your retention dramatically.

00:07:49: All right here's the energy strategy for your day a simple daily structure.
