00:00:00: Speed learning, the success techniques for you and your life.

00:00:14: Hello!

00:00:14: And welcome to speedlearning – a podcast where you learn how to learn faster remember more and recall what you've learned with confidence in probably only podcasts of the world which is also available in German French Spanish Italian.

00:00:32: Today we move on to next level how to dramatically accelerate your learning with advanced strategy and mental shortcuts.

00:00:43: Because at some point, learning more is not enough than you need to think better!

00:00:49: And you know this phenomena... Your kids coming home from school or maybe remember your school days when you came back from school?

00:00:58: ...and your marks were not as good as they wanted them to be.

00:01:04: so What was the reaction of your parents?

00:01:07: You have to learn more.

00:01:09: Well, and this is probably what you tell your kids if their marks are not that satisfying but just to be honest... ...you can learn eight hours without any result or you can learn twenty minutes and have maximum success!

00:01:30: So it's not about learning more.

00:01:32: It's about learning with a concept.

00:01:36: So the difference between learners and speed-learners is that learners consume a lot, learn linearily and follow content.

00:01:46: They have their book.

00:01:48: they start in the beginning And then go through it until the end to figure out if they haven't learned anything at all.

00:01:57: Speed learner think instructors Recognize patterns and learn selectively.

00:02:04: So the key ideas, speed learner don't learn more.

00:02:07: They learn smarter.

00:02:09: and I mean who doesn't want to become smarter?

00:02:15: The first principle is recognize patterns.

00:02:17: your brain loves patterns.

00:02:20: let's go for a check.

00:02:24: Let us make this test together!

00:02:27: I will give you nine digit number And i want you to memorize it.

00:02:32: so here are the numbers nine, two five three six four zero eight seven.

00:02:40: So can you recall it?

00:02:43: A little bit tricky isn't that?

00:02:45: so here's another one One Two Three Four Five Six Seven Eight Nine.

00:02:51: Oh!

00:02:51: You regard this as too simple.

00:02:53: How about this one?

00:02:55: Two Four Six Eight Ten Twelve Fourteen.

00:03:04: If you calculate correctly, you find out that the last one even had ten digits.

00:03:10: Now... The first one was stress because You have absolutely no idea which pattern there might be or how to memorize this in a short period of time!

00:03:25: The second one is too easy for you.

00:03:26: it's like baby stuff.

00:03:29: This what every three year old can do.

00:03:33: But the third one, as soon as you recognized a pattern.

00:03:38: You had to kick off dopamine and... ...you're simply in good mood!

00:03:44: So that's why finding patterns is so important because your brain loves patterns.

00:03:51: And here are some examples.

00:03:55: If you were learning a language The sentence structures might be helpful.

00:04:01: Let's say for example, you're learning Croatian and all verbs of Latin origin are built with ATI at the end.

00:04:13: So if you take I want beginning of a sentence but I won't then You know that I want will always be followed by the infinitive?

00:04:24: I want to go...I want to do so.

00:04:26: let's take the latin-oradlan words i want to motivate want to present, I want to inform.

00:04:38: I want

00:04:38: hypnotize.".

00:04:40: So this would be in Croatian.

00:04:43: Želim mativirati, Želim infomerati, želim hipnotizirati , Želin prezentirati .So now guess what?

00:05:09: So its patterns make it simple.

00:05:13: In methods, formulas and in exams is question types.

00:05:18: so always ask yourselves what repeats here?

00:05:22: And this saves a lot of time.

00:05:24: second principle learn through contrast instead of learning in isolation.

00:05:30: Learn right versus wrong.

00:05:33: If you know something that is wrong, You do so because what's right.

00:05:40: So always learn this polarity Good vs bad.

00:05:48: This expression Is a good one.

00:05:52: to say That we have go the toilet For example.

00:05:58: Excuse me I need wash my hands.

00:06:02: Where's the bathroom, please?

00:06:05: Excuse me.

00:06:06: I wonder if you could excuse for a minute... ...I have to put on my nose.

00:06:10: Excuse me!

00:06:11: I have to see a man for a dog whereas.... The other thing would be... A man wears the loo.

00:06:17: They are gonna have to shit.

00:06:23: You know all these bad things we don't have to but this is what you learn when you're in student exchange in England.

00:06:30: Then you learn all these bad things first.

00:06:33: And then come back and ask your student exchange partner, well would your mother say that also?

00:06:42: Would your grandmother say this?

00:06:44: Well what the queen in my times or with a king today's time says it.

00:06:52: so I get an impression of how works!

00:06:54: Also fast versus slow.

00:06:56: You might if you learned French meeting somebody enchanté, which is fast.

00:07:04: But now the slow one would be je suis contente de faire votre connaissance.

00:07:12: so instead of nice to meet you.

00:07:15: oh well it's a pleasure to meet.

00:07:18: finally enchantée je suis contente de fait votre connaissance.

00:07:23: So why that works?

00:07:25: contrasts create clarity?

00:07:28: You truly understand something when also understanding its opposite.

00:07:33: If you know that this symptom is a heart attack, and not panic attacks.

00:07:39: And if the difference between them, then you are on your way to become a good doctor!

00:07:45: Third principle – transfer thinking The most powerful skill – apply knowledge in new situations.

00:07:52: That's really what modern school teaching should be about Because to be honest, we don't need a teacher.

00:08:01: To tell you something about the history of Napoleon or About The Second World War Or about the Romans because in nowadays We have the internet and there is Such an easy access to all the knowledge In the world.

00:08:17: the teacher needs to explain You how to separate fake news from evidence From valid information And How to understand which part of history has been written by the victors.

00:08:33: The person who have won wars and the losers, you know those who are lost.

00:08:41: I mean they're not losers but they've lost the war!

00:08:44: And then more powerful people always write history...I mean that's obvious.

00:08:50: ...and teacher had teached how Analyze information that you have access to and make your own opinion, and transfer.

00:09:01: And then how do learn it?

00:09:03: How keep in mind?

00:09:06: So for example if a new sentence, grammar sentence Suddenly understand the past tense I mean like people learning English If they don't understand english past tense, they just used it.

00:09:24: So I did do...I did work.. I did go....I didn't fly and then simply start these sentences.

00:09:31: And then we have time to occupy themselves with the real past tenses.

00:09:37: Strategies you have a strategy for example our ninety-day training to achieve goals speed learning academy.

00:09:46: Once you have achieved that, You will come to new problems and take this strategy To solve a new problem.

00:09:54: To find solutions for that.

00:09:56: or do I have certain concept?

00:09:58: And This concept worked for learning one language For example and then you just put it into a New context Learning twenty other languages with the same Concept.

00:10:07: because what work for One Language Will Work for all Languages if It's appropriate.

00:10:14: So ask yourself, where else can I use this?

00:10:17: And that's real learning.

00:10:20: The fourth principle reduced to the essentials.

00:10:24: Speed learners don't ask what is everything that matters.

00:10:27: they asked What Is Essential.

00:10:29: That means simplify it summarize and compress.

00:10:34: And the fifth principle is Think and Models.

00:10:37: A model has a simple structure for complex things,

00:10:40: e.g.,

00:10:41: the AT-Twenty Principle or the Pareto Principle that we have been talking about in previous podcast episodes... ...or the Input Processing Review System that we've also discussed here,... ...or Problem Solution Application.

00:10:57: Use whatever you learn!

00:11:00: And these models help you to understand faster, decide faster and of course act faster.

00:11:05: The biggest shortcut by the way is teaching!

00:11:08: The fastest way to learn it teach someone else because then you structure your knowledge and identify your gaps.

00:11:17: By the way deep in understanding especially if a person you are explaining it too... ...is asking questions.

00:11:24: So the key idea is if you teach, you learn twice.

00:11:28: Somehow as a teacher should pay students for listening to you and allowing them something because they are learning more.

00:11:38: so do it now.

00:11:40: choose your one topic find pattern and explain in sixty seconds.

00:11:45: then think of new application this high level.

00:11:51: Now, here's the summary.

00:11:52: Think and patterns use contrasts transfer knowledge and simplify radically.

00:11:57: And youth models and remember that you Understand that fast learning is not a talent It's a way of thinking.

00:12:07: now take your time before you return to your daily routine and think Of what has been said within in this podcast episode In today's episode because if you reflect on summarize for yourself it will be stored in your memory, of course.

00:12:23: Now if this episode helped you subscribe and start thinking like a speed learner And If You want to know the three steps To learn a language easy and fast just go to my website sven minus frank dot com.

00:12:38: In The next Episode We'll Go Even Deeper How To Solve Complex Problems Faster With Structured Thinking For Today.

00:12:46: Thanks for Listening.

00:12:47: See You Next Time.

00:12:48: Remember You Don't Need to learn more, you need.
